well located, great staff

Na Families - Confirmed reviews ALL

Lack of minifridge and lack of ice machine (although housekeeping did promptly provide ice upon request) made the effort of keeping milk cold for a breastfed infant and nursing/pumping mother difficult. There was a lot of confusion around the Disloyalty program - the Counting House did not understand what the program was or how to apply any discounts associated. With that said, management was extremely helpful and friendly in trying to troubleshoot any issues we encountered. No complaints about service or quality - just opportunities for improving some minor logistics.

Short staffed, inconvenient

Finding reception was tricky, waited a while to check in at the under-staffed front desk, room wasn't ready for 45 minutes after check-in, clerk did not phone/text as promised when room was ready, we were given vouchers for "a free drink" downstairs while we waited for our room, but the vouchers didn't even cover the cost of a single drink, no vending or ice available without asking staff (again, sorely understaffed in housekeeping), in-room coffee service inappropriately stocked, we never received an email invoice after check out. The only positive thing I can say is that the bed was very comfortable.

We checked in and we had 4 keys that didn’t work. The billing was very confusing. We asked for the room the be straightened up the 2 nd day we were there and it wasn't but they left more towels but didn’t pick up the used one. The last 2 days the room was cleaned. The restaurant and staff were great. The door people were good. I think the hotel is a cool place but it needs a little help.

It seems like a hotel running about to go bankrupt. Only one elevator working, valet and door staff are hit or miss. Only one had any kind of identification that would tell me he worked there. Staff is a bit terse and seem stressed. The spa is not a spa, that's a gym with a steam room and a sauna. The art is lovely, the room was nice, but no fridge and ice had to be brought everyday. That's a pain. I was supposed to get a $40 credit every day for my stay but was only given 2 of 3, and there was no free tasting every night like the website said. Just lackluster when it could be so much more, with just a little more attention to detail.

Good location, but tired hotel

We last stayed here in 2019. At that time the hotel was still relatively fresh and the rooms were great. Things have gone downhill since then. The night we arrived our air conditioning did not work. The front desk did what they could, but it did not work. After two calls, their solution was to give us a fan (since the windows don't open). I would have thought they would have moved us to a different room. We also called about dead light bulbs in the bathroom and the misfunctioning TV. Only the lightbulbs were addressed. The outlets in the night stands are so worn that our devices couldn't charge. The overall shabbiness of the room and furnishings is disappointing, to say the least. The hotel restaurant, The Counting House, was also not up to our expectations from our previous visits. The menu was nowhere near as interesting as those we had experienced before. Breakfast was a disaster! The kitchen was clearly understaffed, as meals were served two at a time over an extended period of time. It took over an hour to get our food. We had the sense that they had not staffed up for the various events in the area, including Full Frame Film Festival and the Dreamville Festival.
